Plans and credits

Lyro runs on credits. Instead of charging per conversation or per seat, Lyro draws down a credit balance as your AI agents do their work. You pick a plan that tops your balance up each month, and you can see exactly where your credits go.

How credits work

Every time one of your AI agents reads a conversation and writes a reply, it spends a small amount of credits. The amount depends on two things:

Which AI model the agent uses. More capable models cost more credits per reply than faster, lighter ones.
How much text the agent has to process. Longer conversations and larger knowledge results mean more work, and so a few more credits.

Credits are measured so that 1,000 credits = $1. Most replies cost a small fraction of a credit, so a single dollar of credits covers a lot of conversations.

Tip: The AI model is set per agent. If you want to stretch your credits further on high-volume, routine questions, point that agent at a faster model. See Agents.

Your free trial

Every new workspace starts with 20,000 bonus credits ($20) so you can build an agent, train it, and watch it answer real questions before you pay anything. No card is required to start.

Trial credits are valid for 30 days. When they are used up or expire, you choose a plan to keep your agents replying.

Plans

Each paid plan refills your balance with the same value in credits every billing cycle.

Plan credits refill at the start of each billing cycle. Unused plan credits do not roll over to the next cycle - the balance is topped back up to the plan amount.

You can upgrade or downgrade at any time from Settings -> Billing. When you change plans mid-cycle, Lyro adjusts your credits for the part of the cycle you have already paid for.

The three kinds of credits

Your balance can hold up to three kinds of credits at once. Lyro always spends the most perishable ones first - bonus, then plan, then top-up - so nothing goes to waste:

Bonus credits - your free-trial credits, and any promotional credits. These expire after a set time.
Plan credits - included with your paid plan and refilled each cycle. They do not roll over.
Top-up credits - extra credits you buy on the Scale plan. These never expire and stay on your account until used.

Top-ups (Scale plan)

On the Scale plan you can buy one-off top-ups of extra credits without changing your plan - useful for a busy season or a traffic spike. Choose any amount from $1 to $5,000 and it is charged to your saved card. Top-up credits are added on top of your monthly plan credits and never expire.

On Free, Starter, and Growth the way to get more credits is to upgrade your plan.

What happens when you run out

If your balance reaches zero, your AI agents stop replying to new messages until you add more credits - by upgrading your plan, or by buying a top-up on the Scale plan. Conversations are paused, not lost; agents pick back up as soon as you have credits again.

Your agents are also paused if a payment fails (your subscription goes past due). Update your card in the billing portal to resume right away.

Note: Only AI agent replies spend credits. Conversations your human team handles, and messages customers send, do not draw down your balance.

Managing billing

Everything lives under Settings -> Billing (visible to workspace owners). From there you can:

See your current plan and your total credits available.
Watch a usage bar for the current billing cycle.
Open a usage breakdown by day and by AI model to see what is driving cost.
Read a full history of every credit added (plan refills, top-ups, bonuses) and spent.
Select Manage billing to open the secure payment portal, where you can update your card, change plan, or cancel.
